Sorry, that was just too easy to pass up.
Of course, I am referring to Richard Kelly's new film, The Box, which stars Cameron Diaz and not her work in the 1992 flick She's No Angel (you won't see any box there either, it's soft-core fare).
While I'm a bit skeptical about the accents being thrown around, this is a Richard Kelly movie! It looks crazy, insane. It looks like a shit-hits-the-fan thriller, and when I say fan, I'm talking one of those industrial sized NASA wind tunnel bad boys. At any rate, the TV spots started this week and if you haven't caught wind of one yet, here's your chance:
Now aren't you excited to see Cameron's Box?!
I'm excited to see this, but bothered by this: Kelly goes from Southland Tales, based on his own six-book (I think?) long graphic novel series, full of tens of characters and a complex storyline...to this, which has a plot ripped from The Book of Questions. I'm curious to see how they flesh they out into a feature.
ReplyDeleteThe sequel: "For a person you loved deeply, would you be willing to move to a distant country, knowing there would be little chance of seeing your friends or family again?"
It's sad to say, but outside of this trailer I know little about The Box. The fact it's based on such a simple premise is concerning, but if anyone can create a mind-bending, thoughtful answer to the question I think it'd be Kelly.
