The RW Quarterly, Vol. II - Issue 1

One year ago today, I started this little bookkeeping post as a way to inform you of all the films I see. I managed three quarterly updates in 2008; my fourth-quarter update being stifled by the condition my condition was in.

I've started off 2009 a little slow, seeing only 37 films, two less than this time last year. I don't feel too bad; my pace was stunted due partly to my recovery and mostly to my addiction to the final season of Battlestar Galactica. But I won't have these excuses next quarter.

Just to refresh your memory, every review I've posted is linked. The films italicized in blue will be reviewed in the near future so be sure to check back for those. If you see a film below that deserves a whore-treatment but isn't slated to receive it, let me know.

  1. What did you think of Let the Right One in? I just watched it on DVD, with the subpar subtitles, I guess, and loved it. As in, LOVED it (my own mini-review goes up Fri). Now that's how you do a vampire movie.

  2. I watched it dubbed and skipped the subtitle snafu. It was great. The more I think about it, the more I love it! Now I wish I had seen it in theaters.

  3. Who's what how?!? I harshly look down on watching foreign films dubbed. It just ain't the same.

    Tsk tsk.

Anyway, my inital comment was going to be "Wow - you've seen a shit ton of flicks in Q1. Making up for lost time, I take it? Speaking of which, how's the health?

I think I've seen no more than 10-15 flicks since the start of the year. I'll have to count now...

  5. @Fletch: I usually prefer subtitles to lame-sounding dubbing but since I didn't want to read things like "the subway ate my eel" I could suffer through the dubbing.

I have been hitting the movies pretty hard. My ass missed not sitting in theater seats for so long. The health is good, still have some minor issues but 100x better than last year this time.

Being the nerd I am, I started keeping spreadsheets years back just so I wouldn't forget flicks in my end of year recap.

@Dodge This!: Ah, Yeah... So I guess we should probably go ahead and have a little talk. Hmm?
